CALCIUM CARBONATE
What is it?
Calcium carbonate is a white insoluble solid with the formula CaCO3. It is formed by three main elements: carbon, oxygen and calcium. It is a common substance found in rocks in all parts of the world, and is the main component of shells of marine organisms, snails, coal balls, pearls, and eggshells.

For almost four decades, Dietmar Alber has been travelling the world on behalf of Hosokawa Alpine. From Asia to the Middle East and on to North and South America, he has overseen projects, developed technical solutions in collaboration with customers and established international markets.This extraordinary career officially came to an end in 2025: in his 40th year of service, Alber, most recently Business Development Director at Hosokawa Alpine Aktiengesellschaft, retired.
